Beginning any home project seems simple. You pick out paint, fabrics, flooring and other finishes and get to work. As you go along, you notice the paint colors aren't turning out the way they looked on the sample, the flooring once laid down is reflecting different hues you didn't notice and now the fabrics you thought would work so well together are fighting not only each other but the paint color. Now you have to start all over. Both time and money have been wasted. This is why a full room design palette should be selected before the project even begins.
Not every project turns out like that and I don't mean to make it sound all doom and gloom 😆, however, it is the most common occurrence as to why people contact me. My designs always begin with a full palette with samples placed together in the space so you can see how each finish is reflected.

For instance, when I am creating a new design, I order fabric, area rugs, flooring, tiles, wallpaper samples to see and feel the different colors and textures. By arranging these samples together, both myself and my clients can visualize how different fabrics complement or clash with each other. This exercise helps in creating a harmonious color palette and selecting textures that enhance the overall aesthetic appeal of the collection. It also helps my clients when they see these palettes in their 3D design renders I provide.
